On Feb 23 Jim Moyer of Blandsburg PA, Dale Hoffman, of Duncansville, PA , and Sean Daley of Brigdeport CN, fished the reef with Capt Kevin..they landed their limit of yellowtail snapper and Dale brought in a 15 lb black grouper.
On Tues Feb 26..Sarah Carter from Lake Placid FL, fished the reef with Capt Kevin. This trip to Key West was a siesta for her before being transferred in the Navy to Guantanamo Cuba. Her and her mom Maria and Barbie’s mom Diane..kept the Capt in line for 4 days. Sarah had never been fishing in the ocean, so the Capt took her out. She landed a 33 lb and 20 lb king mackerel, and several large yellowtail..
On Monday Feb 25 we took some good friends of our fishing on the reef..the seas were calm and the bite was ON!! John n Gena Rowland from Indianapolis fished with Capt Kevin ( and Barbie actually got to go fishing) We had a bunch of big flag yellowtails and John reeled in and released an 8 ft nurse shark.!!!. We all enjoyed a fresh fish lunch back at Geiger Key Marina.
Braving bumpy seas Bill Brooks of Sugarloaf Key and Darryl Mattox of Kansas City had an awesome catch of flag yellowtail and each of them landed king mackerel weighing in at 26 and 24 lbs!!! Way to go guys!!!
On Saturday Feb 17 Jordan and Brenda Affinati, and Valentina, Maria and Bernardo Bartolomeo from Chicago fished the reef with Capt Kevin..They caught 30 flag yellowtail and Jordan landed the biggest fish..a 16 lb black grouper!
On Feb 15, Kenny, Tor and Zach Sandeno tried to brave rough seas on the reef but ended up fishing rock pilesi Hawks Channel with live pilchards. They released several gag grouper, 2 black tip sharks, red grouper and a 25 lb jewfish. Tor landed the biggest fish…a 16 lb cobia all by himself, with brother Zach reeling in the biggest mangrove snapper. Dad Kenny also helped complete
the awesome catch , bringing in several mangrove and lane snapper.
John and Susan Goss of Key West had a great day of fishing with Capt Kevin. They landed their limit of yellowtail snapper and John reeled in a 15 lb black grouper.
On 2-9-08 6 friends from Indiana fished the reef with Capt Kevin Wilson, Knee Deep Charters, Geiger Key Marina…they landed their limit of flag yellowtail snapper and enjoyed fresh fish lunch at the marina.
